TAXUS BACCATA STRICTA
Grower Notes:
Taxus baccata 'Stricta' is also known as the Irish Yew. It is an evergreen shrub with a columnar habit. It has dark green flat needles that are arranged in spirals along the branches. The needles are larger than the English Yew. It can grow up to 15-20 feet tall with an 8-foot spread.
Irish Yew thrives in full to partial sun in acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can be drought tolerant once established. It can be used as a hedge, privacy screen or even a topiary.
